Dramatic footage showing the moment a motorcyclist was smashed off of his bike by a car which then flew into oncoming traffic has revealed the reason behind a mass tailback.

And although the biker was hospitalised, the car driver, described as being an Indian man, had climbed out of his wrecked vehicle and run off after causing the crash.
The incident happened when the 29-year-old biker was hit from behind by a white Honda multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) while travelling along Jurong Town Hall Road in the south-western part of Singapore.
After colliding with the motorbike and knocking off the rider, the MPV then hits the car that was in front of the biker, which recorded the incident, before careering across the road into oncoming traffic by smashing through a divider railing.
It came to a halt on the opposite side of the road, with parts of the car strewn in its wake, as the car that it hit smashed into another vehicle in front.
The motorcyclist, who had initially been sent flying by the impact and landed on his back, is seen scrambling to his feet and staggering awkwardly for a short distance before sitting on the curb.
He suffered back injuries and was kept under observation at the National University Hospital in Singapore for five days.
A police spokesman said they had attended the incident and were investigating, which included trying to track down the car driver.
